Haworth Cat Rescue appoints first Patron

Exciting news this week as Milly Johnson, author of popular romantic comedies Yorkshire Pudding Club and The Birds and the Bees, becomes Haworth Cat Rescue’s first patron.

Milly will be joining our instore "In For a Pound" collection day at Morrisons, Keighley from 9.30am to 11.30 am this Saturday, April 18. Supporters will be able to meet her as she signs copies of her newly released third novel
A Spring Affair.

Milly, now Barnsley based, has close ties with Haworth where she lived for several years. She adopted her first rescue cat from us more than 15 years ago. “I was honoured to have been asked to become Patron and equally honoured to accept,” says Milly.

“Cats are true companions. Every one them has a really different personality, every cat that I have loved and lost has had its own traits and idiosyncrasies.

“It’s heartbreaking that Yorkshire carries the burden of such a terrible reputation for cruelty. Local charities meet local needs and that’s why I think Haworth Cat Rescue is doing something so important with its plans for a new environmentally friendly rehoming centre that will do us all proud by teaching kids how to love, respect and enjoy cats.”

Milly is also supporting our In For A Pound appeal, whereby we ask supporters to donate £1 and to invite as many friends as possible to do the same thing - donate £1 and invite their own friends and so on. Details of our appeal can be found on our website
. We aim to find 2 million cat lovers, each willing to donate £1 towards our appeal.

Do come along and support our collection – and meet Milly – as you shop at Morrisons this Saturday!
